CCTV Signs - Closed Circuit Television

With effect from the 1st March 2000, operators of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) must provide or display signs in close proximity to their cameras to inform individuals that they are entering an area covered by surveillance equipment. The signs should be clearly visible and should identify; the purpose of the CCTV, who is responsible for the scheme, and who to contact regarding the scheme. This is required in order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
