Fire Exit Signs - BS5499
|
The format for these signs is specified in BS5499 and the meanings are described below. They should ideally be placed approximately 1.7m above floor level. Signs may employ the text "EXIT" or "FIRE EXIT" but the text must always be accompanied by a running man pictogram. Any existing , text only signs, do not comply with BS5499 and must be replaced or have a running man pictogram positioned alongside them |
